Boston Police Department Division 16 Station and Boylston Street Fire Station are built.

Architect: Arthur Vinal. Designed in the Romanesque Revival style, they are located at 941 – 955 Boylston Street. It is the first combined fire and police station in Boston. The division is merged into District D-4 and the police station closed in 1964. The building is renovated by Graham Gund and becomes home to the Institute of Contemporary Art in 1975.
